Ms. Velma Thomas resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she has faithfully served in her local church for more than 40 years in various positions of ministry. Her life’s testimony is one of service, encouragement, and a steadfast commitment to the Kingdom of God.
Beyond the walls of the church, Velma has touched countless lives in her community. Through prayer, encouragement, and the giving of baskets to those in need, she has embodied the heart of a true servant. Whether in her career, in ministry, or in daily life, she is known for sharing a timely passage of Scripture to remind others of the goodness and faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
As an ordained minister, Velma considers it her joy to serve the body of Christ and her community with humility and love. She reflects the spirit of Romans 12:13, “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality,” and lives out Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, which reminds us, “Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
Velma’s ministry continues to exemplify the call of an encourager and helpmate in the Kingdom. Through her words, prayers, and acts of service, she points others toward Christ and the hope found in Him alone.
